The Traitors BBC Series 4: Secret Betrayals Grip the Nation!

Betrayal runs deep in the Scottish Highlands. BBC’s The Traitors Series 4 explodes with lies, murders, and a shocking secret twist. Claudia Winkleman hosts the hit show. Fans can not look away. 

Series 4 launched on January 1, 2026, on BBC One. It draws peak audiences of over 7 million viewers. The Finale airs January 23. ED Gamble presents the spin-off The Traitors: Uncloaked. This season packs 22 everyday contestants into a castle. They fight for a prize pot now at 66,750 euros. 

A massive twist shocks everyone. Claudia reveals a “Secret Traitor” in Episode 1. This hidden player stays unknown to viewers and regular traitors. The Secret Traitor sends nightly murder shortlists. Regular traitors pick from the list. No self-murders allowed. Fans spot the secret traitor as a red-cloaked figure. In Episode 4, traitors Stephen and Rachel unmask Fiona Hughes as the secret one. Fiona, a 62-year-old local government officer from Swansea, joins the villains. 

The initial traitors are Rachel Duffy, Stephen Libby, and Hugo Lodge. Rachel, 42, heads communications from Newry, Northern Ireland. Stephen 32 is a cybersecurity consultant from London, Hugo 51 is a barrister from London, and gets banished in Episode 3. Tarriet Tyce calls him out for odd behaviour. Ratings soar after her takedown of Rachel in later episodes. 

Drama brews with secret ties. Mother Judy Wilson, 60, from Doncaster, and daughter Roxy Wilson, 32, from Amsterdam, hide their link. Viewers lean first. The couple, Ellie Buckley, 33, a psychologist, and Ross Garshong, 37 sales exec, keep quiet too. Ross gets banished in Episode 4. Netty Osterberg 42 nursery teacher from Glasgow, outs her old acquaintance with Ross. 

Murders and banishments pile up fast. Netty was murdered in Episode 2. Ben 66 Royal Navy veteran, is gone in Episode 3. Maz Bana, 59, civil servant, Episode 5. Other fall: Reece Ward, Jessie Stride and Adam Waughman. Banished Faithful includes Judy, Ross, Amanda Collier (retired detective), Fiona, Harriet (crime writer), Sam Little, Ellie and Matthew Hyndman.

Survivors battle on: Faithful Faraaz Noor, 22, auditor; Jack Butler, 29, trainer; Jade Scott, 25, PhD student; James Baker, 38, gardener; Roxy. Traitors Rachel and Stephen lurk.

Missions build the pot with thrills. Episode 1, the rowboat coffin hunt, wins 10,000 euros. Shields go to Amanda, Ben and Ellie. Chariot push in Episode 2 nets 8,750 euros. Teams match paintings, stack skulls, burn statues, and smash mirrors. Carous-hell funfair adds 9,250 euros. Cherub hunts risk prize money for shields.
