Epstein Files released: Emails indicate connections with high-ranking politicians and fresh information about the death 

A cache of now-released documents that are associated with tainted financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein provides a new insight into his interactions with some of the most powerful and affluent individuals in the world, emerging information about his imprisonment and death, as indicated by the Associated Press.

On Friday, the US Justice Department revealed that it is publishing over three million pages of documents, as well as thousands of videos and photographs, as required by a congressional law. Towards the end of Friday, more than 600,000 documents were publicised online.

Prosecutors have determined that millions more files may be disclosed, but these are sealed, and this delay has provoked an outcry among Democratic politicians. The material is now under review by a team of Associated Press reporters.

The documents indicate that Epstein had hundreds of messages with Steve Bannon, a close adviser of the then-President Donald Trump, in the months preceding his death in 2019, according to the Associated Press. They discussed politics, travelling, and a documentary that Bannon was reportedly considering doing that would improve the reputation of Epstein.

Bannon also requested that Epstein in March 2019 to use his personal plane to be picked up in Rome.

After a couple of months, Epstein wrote Bannon the following message: “Now you can understand why Trump wakes up in the middle of the night sweating when he hears you, and I are friends.”

Another exchange in 2018 was about threats by Trump at the time to strip Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, who had been appointed by the leader the previous year. This is also the time when Epstein wrote to Kathy Ruemmler, who was a lawyer and former Obama White House official. Epstein, in an email that various typographical errors cautioned Democrats against presenting Trump as a Mafia-style character, although he at the same time referred to the president as a maniac.

Bannon also failed to respond to an AP request to comment at all. Ruemmler, who had a spokesperson, replied that in her prior life, she had a professional relationship with Epstein in her personal practice with Epstein in her personal practice of law and that now she regrets ever knowing him, reported AP.

Several emails between Epstein and Tesla billionaire Elon Musk, dated 2012 and 2013, about a visit to Epstein’s private island, which was later the focus of numerous sexual abuse claims, are Ldo included in the records.

In December 2012, Epstein had also invited Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick to tour the island. The documents allege that the wife of Lutnick welcomed the news with a lot of excitement and told them they were going to come on a yacht with their children.
