Catherine O’Hara died of pulmonary embolism on 9th February and had rectal cancer. The sources cited it as a pulmonary embolism, which was the immediate cause, and the sequential cause of death was rectal cancer. The comedic actress, who entertained generations of people with her characters in Home Alone, Best in Show and Schitt’s Creek, passed away on Jan. 30. She was 71.
The death of O’Hara occurred at her Los Angeles home after a short-term illness. Creative Artists Agency, which had been her representation, had earlier announced the news in a news statement.
According to the Associated Press, she was treated since March of last year, according to a Los Angeles County death certificate. It also demonstrated that she was cremated.
The cause of death, as stated by O’Hara, is an imminent pulmonary embolism, which is a blockage of circulation to the lungs at a single location. O’Hara was born in Canada, and she grew up in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, as the sixth of seven children. Her parents were humorous, and a sense of humour was not encouraged but demanded in her home. O’Hara was best known as movie and TV moms, such as the cartoonish matriarch in “Schitt’s Creek”, the quirky stepmom in Beetlejuice and, most popularly, the mom who leaves the house accidentally in the 1990 blockbuster Buy Home Alone and the sequel.
