A woman fired a series of shots at the Beverly Hills area house of popstar Rihanna on Sunday, and one of the shots went through a wall of the mansion, a police enforcement source told.
A police spokesperson said that on Sunday, at 1:21 p.m., Los Angeles police responded to the report about the shooting and a 30-year-old female suspect was arrested.
The source said the pop star was at home. Police claim that the suspect opened fire in a few rounds out of a car towards the residence of the celebrity. Police SGT Jonathan de Vera, who is a spokesperson of the Los Angeles Police Department, claimed that there were no injuries in the incident. According to the LAPD radio dispatch of the incident, they said that they fired a total of about 10 shots at the residence by a vehicle on the other side of the road of the gate of the property. According to the dispatch audio, the car was a white Tesla driven away south on Coldwater Canyon Drive.
When the police were scanning the area to find the Tesla, they informed one another on the radio: “The suspect’s hair was in braids; she wore a cream-colored blouse, and her car was dirty on the bottom. Officers soon caught sight of her vehicle and followed it to a shopping centre parking lot in Sherman Oaks, where they arrested her around 30 minutes after the 911 call came in.
The pop star is said to be residing in a colonial-style mansion in the Post Office area of Beverly Hills with her rapper boyfriend, ASAP Rocky. The husband and wife have three young children, 2 sons and a daughter. It was not so clear at first whether anyone was at home when the shooting was going on.
According to the police, the suspect, who was a 30-year-old woman, pulled up in a car outside the house, fired 7 shots and drew. The lady was caught in her vehicle approximately 8 miles (12 km) from the singer’s house. She is yet to be publicly identified. The BBC has approached representatives of Rihanna to comment.
