With Death In Paradise back on screens with a Christmas special in 2025, we consider the date of the next appearance of the successful series on screens.
The BBC detective drama is now one of the most viewed shows on the station, with millions of viewers, and it has made the station a very big success since its release in 2011.
This year has seen Don Gilet reappear as DI Mervin Wilson in the Christmas special episode that will be aired on Sunday evening (December 28). When a dead body is discovered in a pool, Wilson will be at the centre of a party investigation, yet the murder weapon is discovered in an overseas locked drawer thousands of miles away from the location of the crime.
The 90-minute special episode will be a welcome back to Saint Marie among the show fans. The episode will be aired at 8:30 pm on BBC One and on BBC iPlayer on Sunday, 28 December.
Will Death in Paradise be back in season 15?
The BBC also confirmed that its popular series would be returning once again in a 15th season, although at this point, it has not yet confirmed when the new season will hit the screens.
Nevertheless, we can glance at the release date of the past seasons so that we can have a clue as to when we can expect to witness DI Wilson and his team on the BBC. In spring 2025, the filming of the new series was done in Guadalupe.
This implies that season 15 of Death In Paradise will hit the air at some stage in the first half of 2027. Some of these have been broadcast as early as the first week of January, but some of them have started as early as the first week of February.
The new season of Death In Paradise will feature the same lead actor, Don Gilet, and the other stars to include in the series are not confirmed but are expected to be in the series, which include Shanton Jackson as Naomi Thomas, Ginny Holder as Darlene Curtis, Shaquille Ali-Yebuah as Sebastian Rose and Elizabeth Bourgine as Catherine Bordey.
The departure of long-running popular star Don Warrington as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson to Saint Marie in the season 14 finale, after he rejected the proposal of his job back, shocked the fans. It is yet to be seen whether he will come back to the show early in 2026, but the fans will be hoping that they will see more of the popular character on their screen soon.
