Robert Cosby Jr, the son of reality TV star Mary Cosby, has passed away in Utah. He was only 23 years old. On Monday, police received a call about a potential overdose of drugs. On the arrival of the officers, they discovered him dead.
His actual death is yet to be established due to the doctors’ checking. His mother, Mary Cosby, posted on Instagram. She claimed that her son was taken back to the Lord and is now at rest. She also expressed gratitude to people who prayed and said that her religion is seeing her through his tragic period.
According to NBC News, Robert had issues with mental health and drugs which were exhibited in the recent seasons of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City in the previous season. This was after he left jail at the beginning of the month, since he claimed he had been guilty of assault and breaking a protective order. He had over a dozen felony count incidents between September and November of violating stay-away orders by his wife, Alexania Smokoff.
Mary Cosby is a native resident of Salt Lake City who is part of the Bravo Real Housewives franchise. In season 5 she had no hesitation when she talked about her concern regarding the behaviour of her son, and later she found out that her son had been addicted to drugs. In one of his emotional TV interviews, Robert explained that he began to use drugs when he was 16. He has confessed that he has used numerous drugs and substances such as Xanax, Adderall, cocaine and acid. He informed his mother that he had been a stain and that the world was not his.
Following that conversation, he visited a rehab, which was confirmed by Mary to the viewers. Mary explained that they told their story in public in the hope that it would save at least one person. Her other castmates hailed her as a mother who stood by her son and got him assistance. According to NBC News, the network also exchanged resources for addiction help during the episodes.
During the Season 6 reunion last month, Mary Cosby said that she felt safer when her son was in jail since he did not use drugs in jail. She also alleged she had to stand aside and allow him to make his own decisions. Whitney Rose, a cast member, posted a broken-heart emoji when he heard that he died. The prayers and support of the Cosby family were written by the co-star Lisa Barlow. Andy Cohen, the executive producer, referred to the news as ‘devastatingly sad’, and he said that this is the worst nightmare that every parent has.
