The UK is getting ready to endure horrible cold weather in some days ahead with the recent weather maps indicating that the weather will drop to as low as -3C. The maps indicate that the country will experience the freezing weather on Thursday, October 23 and that will leave many parts of the country shivering.
As per the weather maps produced by the WXCharts on October based on the data provided by Net Desk, the cold weather will start to creep into the country at the middle of the night on October 23, and initially only the regions near Fort William will be the coldest.
But the cold conditions will start to spread as the day progresses and other places like Portree and Glencore will see the mercury fall to -3C, according to the maps.
The charts indicate that the level of temperature in Edinburgh, Iverness, Wick, Aberdeen and Glasgow will be around -1 and OC at 12pm.
The cold condition may be observed in other regions like Newcastle, Middlesbrough, York, and Yorkshire Dales with temperatures of approximately 0 and 1C during the day.
But even the southern part of the country will experience the mercury level that will reach single digits with parts of London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leicester and Gloucester recording 3 and 4C as per the maps.
The Met Office states that for the period from October 25 to November 8, the weather is set to be more unsettled. It predicts: “This period is likely to see changeable conditions across the UK with low pressure systems tending to dominate. Showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, perhaps heavy in places.
“There will however likely be done temporary drier interludes at times. Temperatures will probably be close to normal.” Up until that point it is the current high pressure that is expected to remain in control which means it is generally set to be dry.
The Met Office days for October 15-24: “High pressure is expected to dominate the UK weather at the start of this period.
“Whilst a little rain and drizzle is likely in parts of the southeast and north, mainly over the higher ground, much of the UK will be predominantly dry.
“Cloud amounts will be variable but often large, although there will be some spells of sunshine. There are likely to be some fog patches overnight, slowly clearing through the morning.
“Temperatures are likely to be close to normal for the time of year overall.
“During the second half of this period, there are signs that the general pattern will shift with low pressure systems probably moving in from the west in some fashion. However, details of any more unsettled weather are still very uncertain.
